Politics According to Robert Barone

Over the last few weeks, I keep thinking of this "Everybody Loves Raymond" episode where Robert is explaining to Ray why Marie likes him and Amy best. Using this math, I think we can figure out who's going to win this election.

I tried to find the exact quote, but basically, here's what he says: "If you take Mom's adoration of Raymond and subtract her hatred for Debra, divide it by her disappointment in me and multiply her love of Amy, then we are the couple she loves best."

I keep thinking how this "math" applies to the election. If the voter is the Marie then Obama is the Raymond; he can do no wrong. Hate is probably a strong way to describe how people feel about Biden, but I'd say the majority of people strongly dislike him, so he's the Debra. McCain is the Robert. For me, I've been disappointed. I was really excited about him back when he was running against Bush, but he's just not meeting my personal expectations. And then, Palin is the Amy. She's come in all sweet and bubbly, making McCain (Robert) look better.

So, according to that crazy theory, I think McCain/Palin will be the favorite "couple."

Oh... and if anyone remembers which episode this is, tell me! It's driving me crazy.

How sad is it after tonight's debate that we'll likely be stuck with Barry O. for the next 4-8 years. Man why can't McCain pull it togerther and show the american people a good show and get the vote if for no other reason than to get Pallin into office. So very sad.
